Privacy Policy

What we collect

Fleuron collects the following information:

  • Account information — when you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from the provider. We use these to create and identify your account.
  • Document content — the documents (books) you create and save while signed in are stored on our servers so you can access them across devices and share them with others.
  • Usage data — we use PostHog, a product analytics tool, to collect pseudonymized session data about how you use Fleuron. This includes page views, feature interactions, and general session data. PostHog does not receive your document content.
  • Local browser data — Fleuron uses your browser’s local storage and IndexedDB to cache documents and preferences locally. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you save to the cloud.

How we use it

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and operate the Fleuron service
  • Sync your documents across devices when you’re signed in
  • Enable real-time collaboration features
  • Understand how the product is used so we can improve it
  • Contact you about significant service changes (we won’t spam you)
  • Review content when required to investigate abuse reports, respond to legal obligations, or diagnose technical issues affecting your account

We do not sell your data. We do not use your document content to train AI models.

API keys and third-party tools — if you generate an API key and share it with a third-party tool (such as an AI assistant or automation script), that tool can read and modify your documents on your behalf. We have no visibility into how third-party tools handle your content once they receive it. Only share your API key with tools you trust.

Lawful basis (GDPR): We process your personal data on the basis of contract performance — it is necessary to provide the service you signed up for. Usage analytics are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the product.

How long we keep it

Account information and document content are kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, all associated data is deleted immediately and permanently. Anonymous usage analytics are retained according to PostHog’s own retention policy (90 days by default). Local browser data (local storage, IndexedDB) persists until you clear it through your browser settings.

Where it’s stored

Fleuron’s backend infrastructure is hosted on Fly.io. Server data may be stored in regions outside Argentina, including the United States. By using Fleuron, you consent to your data being transferred to and processed in these locations.

Victor Grycuk is based in Argentina. Any questions about data handling can be directed to the contact address at the bottom of this page.

Third parties

Fleuron uses the following third-party services:

  • Google OAuth — for account sign-in. Governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • GitHub OAuth — for account sign-in. Governed by GitHub’s Privacy Policy.
  • PostHog — for product analytics. PostHog processes anonymized usage data on our behalf. You can opt out of PostHog tracking in your browser using standard ad blockers or the PostHog opt-out mechanism.
  • Fly.io — our hosting provider. Fly.io stores and processes data on our behalf to run the service.

We do not share your personal information with any other third parties, except as required by law.

Your rights

You can:

  • Delete your account at any time through account settings — all associated data is deleted immediately
  • Export a copy of your data (account information, documents, and folders) directly from account settings
  • Correct your display name at any time through account settings
  • Clear your local browser data at any time through your browser settings

If you are in the European Economic Area or another jurisdiction with data protection laws, additional rights may apply to you. Contact us to exercise them.

Cookies and local storage

Fleuron uses your browser’s local storage for functional purposes: remembering your theme preference, caching documents for performance, and — before you sign in — holding any books you create, since anonymous books are stored only in your browser until you save them to an account.

For analytics, PostHog stores a pseudonymous identifier in your browser’s local storage. It is used to recognize your session across page loads and to link your activity before and after you sign in. It is not tied to your name or email until you create an account, and is never used for advertising or cross-site tracking. Fleuron sets no advertising cookies. You can opt out using standard ad blockers or PostHog’s opt-out mechanism.
